MEDIA ALERT: Equinix Announces Attendance at IBC 2014, Amsterdam

 

LONDON — September 4, 2014 — Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the global interconnection and data center company, today announced details of its presence at IBC 2014 Conference, taking place September 12-16, 2014 at the Amsterdam RAI.

During IBC, the annual event for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of digital media, Rory Murphy, director, Content and Digital Media and Matt George, senior manager, Field Development, Content and Digital Media, Equinix EMEA, will be available to meet with visitors at stand B21 in Hall 3 and discuss how Equinix’s Performance Hub for content and digital media businesses is a key asset in the digital media value chain.

The Equinix Performance Hub™ has been developed in response to the need for media companies to ensure high quality production and distribution of content to consumers on any device at any time and has been built, tested and located in Equinix data centers. By facilitating direct connections to network and cloud providers, Performance Hub enables television and video businesses to swiftly expand and greatly improve performance.

Mobile Video Alliance drinks reception:

  • A special drinks reception hosted by mobile operator EE and Equinix, the founders of the Mobile Video Alliance, to bringing together a group of companies involved in the true end-to-end mobile video ecosystem.
  • The MVA aims to identify, develop and advocate technologies that harmonize the delivery of audio-visual content to mobile devices, with the aim of providing a reliable and enjoyable experience for consumers. The session will address issues around video quality over wireless and mobile networks, fragmentation in the value chain and a range of technical issues such as the evolution of caching and adaptive bit rates.
  • The MVA has now moved under the auspices of DTG, the UK industry association for digital television, whose membership includes over 125 companies that drive innovation and growth in the television and technology sectors.
