Charles J. Meyers

President & Chief Executive Officer

Charles J. Meyers joined Equinix in 2010 as President, Equinix Americas, leading the company’s largest P&L through a time of significant growth and strong operating performance. Meyers then served as the Chief Operating Officer at Equinix, where he led the Global Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Success teams. For the past year, he was President, Strategy, Services and Innovation (SSI) leading Equinix’s strategic business teams including Corporate Strategy, Technology Innovation, and Product Management and Engineering. Under Meyers’ leadership, SSI worked to optimize the company’s position as a cloud enabler, identify key growth areas, and evolve our services portfolio in response to market, competitive and technology trends.

Meyers has built a distinguished 25-year career in the high-tech industry. Before joining Equinix, Meyers served as Group President at Verisign, where he led a P&L portfolio, including the company’s Security, Communications and Mobile Messaging businesses. Prior to Verisign, Meyers held various executive positions at Level 3 Communications, including Group Vice President of Global Marketing, President of IP and Data Services, and Senior Vice President, Softswitch Services. During his tenure, Meyers helped Level 3 emerge as a premier global provider of Internet and VoIP services.

Meyers also held senior operating roles at BellSouth, was a member of the pre-IPO executive team at Internet Security Systems, and served as a Senior Associate with Booz-Allen & Hamilton Consulting.

Meyers earned dual master’s degrees from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and McCormick Graduate School of Engineering. He also holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado.

Raouf Abdel

Raouf Abdel

Executive Vice President, Global Operations

Raouf Abdel joined Equinix in 2012, and today he is head of Global Operations overseeing engineering, construction, and operations for the company. Previously he served as Regional Operating Chief, Americas, where he successfully led IBX Operations through significant growth and expansion. Abdel has 30 years of experience in the data center, telecom, and construction industries. Before joining Equinix, he was President and CEO for OpTerra Energy Group, where he was responsible for building the company’s business plan, securing funding and day to day operations. Before that, Abdel was President, Business Markets Group, at Level 3 Communications, where he led the company’s $1 Billion Enterprise business unit. Abdel also held numerous leadership roles at Level 3 in network deployment, product development and M&A.

Before Level 3, Abdel served as VP of Network Deployment at MFS Communications and was responsible for network and facility deployment throughout the US, Europe and Asia.

Abdel holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Sara Baack

Chief Product Officer

Sara Baack serves as Chief Product Officer, responsible for defining, developing and delivering Equinix’s industry-leading portfolio of products and services. She joined Equinix in 2012 and served for six years as Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for the company’s overall global brand development, market strategy, product and service portfolio, industry analysis, communications, solutions marketing and integrated demand generation.

Baack brings to Equinix more than 25 years of strategic corporate experience, with a strong background in building and commercializing new services. She joined the company from Level 3 Communications, Inc., where she served in a variety of senior management positions, most recently as Senior Vice President of Voice Services. In this role, Baack was responsible for strategy, product management, pricing and commercial support, interconnection/regulatory policy, vendor management, network planning and operations for the $1b business unit. In addition to her career at Level 3, Baack also worked at PaineWebber Incorporated as Vice President of Principal Transactions, where she invested proprietary private equity capital in the communications sector.

Baack has been named Silicon Valley Business Journal’s CMO of the Year and as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech by the National Diversity Council. She holds a B.A. from Rice University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.

Mike Campbell

Chief Sales Officer

As Chief Sales Officer, Mike Campbell is responsible for the strategy and execution of all Equinix sales efforts globally, including direct sales and the entire ecosystem of go-to-market channel partners. He focuses on implementing strategies to expand the company’s customer base and take advantage of new business opportunities. Previously, Campbell held the role of Senior Vice President of Sales for Equinix.

Campbell joined Equinix in 2015 with over 30 years of international sales leadership experience at premier high-tech organizations. He joined Equinix from Symantec, where he ran global renewals and website security businesses that drove almost $2 billion annually. His career at Symantec began after the merger with VeriSign’s authentication business unit, which had previously acquired Guardent, where he ran the enterprise and channel sales teams. Before Guardent, Campbell led Akamai’s U.S. sales force operations and nearly doubled the company’s revenue in just one year, from $89 million to over $160 million. Campbell has also held various sales leadership positions at NCR, UUNET, CompuServe, MCI and WorldCom.

Campbell holds a B.S. in marketing, with a minor in communications from the University of Dayton.

Justin Dustzadeh

Chief Technology Officer

Dr Justin Dustzadeh joined Equinix in 2019 and serves as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he is responsible for developing a technology roadmap to support the company’s broader platform strategy, leading the next-generation technology and innovation function, and contributing to the company's ongoing leadership in the cloud ecosystem.

Prior to Equinix, Dustzadeh served as Head of Global Network and Software Platform at Uber, where he led the team responsible for the architecture, engineering and operations of Uber’s global network infrastructure, as well as software platforms enabling Uber's business worldwide.

Dustzadeh’s prior experience includes executive roles at Visa, Huawei, Ericsson, AT&T, a Silicon-Valley technology startup (where he was a founder), and two leading service providers in France.

Dustzadeh holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Télécom Paris, and a B.S. in Theoretical Physics from École Normale Supérieure (Ulm) in Paris.

Brandi Galvin Morandi

Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer and Corporate Secretary

Brandi Galvin Morandi joined Equinix in January 2003 and served as Equinix’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary until her expanded appointment was announced in early 2019. Morandi’s global organization stewards the Magic of Equinix culture through engagement, development, and compliance. From the first introduction, through onboarding, and finding success as they grow their career with Equinix, her team is at the forefront of creating a workplace experience where all employees are engaged and empowered. Morandi has led the strategic planning required to support the ongoing growth of Equinix past 8,000-employees, which has included organic and acquisition growth.

Morandi’s legal organization acts as a strategic partner in commercial negotiations, regulatory and compliance matters, governmental affairs and corporate governance, including working closely with the Equinix Board of Directors. Her teams have completed and integrated numerous acquisitions and joint ventures globally and over $27 billion in equity and debt financings in support of Equinix’s expansion roadmap.

Before joining Equinix, she practiced in the corporate securities group at the law firm of Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP (Gunderson Dettmer) in Menlo Park, California. At Gunderson Dettmer, she represented public and private companies in a variety of debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions as well as providing general corporate public company representation. Prior to her legal career, she held various positions in the field of public relations.

Morandi holds a B.A. in International Relations and Journalism from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Eric Schwartz

Eric Schwartz

Chief Strategy and Development Officer

Eric Schwartz joined Equinix in 2006 and has held a series of senior-level management roles with the company. In his current role as Chief Strategy and Development Officer, he directs corporate strategy, business development, technology and innovation, hyperscale initiatives and corporate development. This includes driving effective and holistic strategy and decision-making across the company to support both strategic and tactical elements of growth and expansion. As a part of this role, Schwartz oversees the company’s capital investment program to strengthen Equinix’s position as the platform for the architecture of choice for businesses as they increasingly move their strategic infrastructure to Platform Equinix.

Before moving to his current role, Schwartz led Equinix’s expansion to Europe, including the 2007 acquisition of IXEurope and the 2016 acquisition of Telecity. He served as President of the EMEA region from 2008-2019 and oversaw the management, strategy and growth for Equinix in Europe and the Middle East. Under his leadership, the EMEA region expanded from $178 million in revenue in 2008 to $1.6 billion in 2018 and encompassed 73 International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centres in 15 countries.

Schwartz came to Equinix from BellSouth, where he was Vice President of IP Communications and led the development and implementation of advanced technologies, including VoIP. Before joining BellSouth, he was Executive Vice President of Harold A. Dawson Company, an Atlanta-based real estate development company. Schwartz also is a former member of McKinsey & Co., where he consulted with telecommunications and financial services companies in the United States and Asia on strategic issues.

Schwartz earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University.

Karl Strohmeyer

Karl Strohmeyer

Chief Customer and Revenue Officer

Karl Strohmeyer is the Chief Customer and Revenue Officer for Equinix and leads the go-to-market engine including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations and Customer Care teams. He is the head of regional leadership for Equinix across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and the Asia Pacific region. Before his current role at Equinix, he was the President of the Americas region.

Strohmeyer spent 12 years at Level 3 Communications, where he was Group Vice President for the North American Enterprise Group, overseeing a sales team of more than 1,200 people generating approximately US$2.5 billion in annual revenue. Strohmeyer also led the Global Carrier Channel for Level 3 and was responsible for more than US$1 billion in carrier and service provider revenue. Before Level 3, Strohmeyer worked at NetRail, where he was Executive Vice President of Operations and Corporate Development.

Strohmeyer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s degree in International Business Administration from Mercer University.

Keith D. Taylor

Chief Financial Officer

Keith D. Taylor joined Equinix in 1999 and has served in a variety of roles, such as Equinix's Director of Finance & Administration, Vice President, Finance & Chief Accounting Officer, and now as CFO. Before joining Equinix, Taylor served as Vice President of Finance and Controller for International Wireless Communications, Inc., an operator, owner, and developer of wireless communication networks throughout Asia and Latin America. Prior to joining International Wireless Communications, Inc., Taylor was employed by Becton Dickinson & Company, a medical and diagnostic device manufacturer, as a Senior Sector Analyst for the diagnostic businesses in Asia, Latin America, and Europe.

Taylor holds a B.B.A. from Bishop's University in Quebec, Canada, and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Peter Van Camp

Peter Van Camp

Executive Chairman

Peter Van Camp serves as our executive chairman, a position he was appointed to in April 2007. Prior to this position, Van Camp served as our chief executive officer and as a director since May 2000 and as president since March 2006. In addition, in December 2005, Van Camp was re-elected as chairman of the board, having previously served in that capacity from June 2001 to December 2002. From January 1997 to May 2000, Van Camp was employed at UUNET, the Internet division of MCI (formerly known as WorldCom), where he served as president of Internet markets and as president of the Americas region. During the period from May 1995 to January 1997, Van Camp was president of Compuserve Network Services, an Internet access provider. Before holding this position, Van Camp held various positions at Compuserve during the period from October 1982 to May 1995.

Van Camp currently serves on the board of directors of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.

Milind Wagle

Milind Wagle

Chief Information Officer

Milind Wagle joined Equinix in April 2010 and serves as Chief Information Officer. Wagle leads the global IT team and oversees service delivery for information security, infrastructure and operations, business analytics, and all enterprise applications for the company.

Prior to Equinix, Wagle held various IT leadership positions at VeriSign, most recently managing global IT applications for the company. Prior to Verisign, he was a management consultant with KPMG Consulting and BearingPoint, where he oversaw the delivery of several business transformation and technology programs for a variety of clients in the High Tech and Telecom industries. Wagle started his technology career as a software engineer for Tata Interactive Systems in India.

Wagle holds a BS, Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
